The James and Oasis de los Osos Reserves are located in the San Jacinto Mountains, which are east of Los Angeles in Riverside County and just west of Palm Springs. The James is about an hour away from Palm Springs and two hours away from San Diego and Los Angeles. The James Reserve is located on the western side of Black Mountain. The entrance to the James Reserve is on California Highway 243 at Lake Fulmor, 8 miles north of the town of Idyllwild (visit directions page). Oasis de los Osos is on the northeastern side of the San Jacinto Mountains; its entrance is located just past the village of Snow Creek (visit directions page). Access to Snow Creek is off the junction of State Route 111 and Interstate Highway 10 just north of Palm Springs.
