Welcome to the James San Jacinto Mountains

Is there cell phone and internet access at the Reserves?

There is wireless internet access in all the buildings at the James Reserve as well as throughout the grounds. It is an open mesh (JR-Open Mesh) so you should be able to link into it without a password. There are remote solar arrays around the Reserve that will allow you to connect to the internet in the field. Cell phone service, however, is extremely limited at the James Reserve. Depending on your carrier, you may or may not be able to get a signal at different locations around the buildings. It is best to plan on not being able to use your cell phones when at the James; you can Skype as an alternate option.

Currently, at Oasis de los Osos, there is no internet but cell phone service is present for certain carriers. We plan to install internet in the near future.
